ESL/Literacy
You can learn English at the library. We have books, special computers and software, tutors or classes to help you improve your English speaking and reading skills, or learn English as a second language.
NACo Rx Drug Discount Cards
Residents of Cook county may obtain a discount drug card that allows them to save 20% on prescription drugs not covered by their insurance. All residents are eligible regardless of age, income or existing health coverage. You can obtain your free card at the Reception Desk on the library´s second level. World Languages
Our collection of world language materials has items for you to enjoy or use to learn one of 17 world languages.
Special Needs
Sign up for delivery of library items for homebound patrons, and learn about equipment, library items and services for people with impaired hearing or vision.
Proctoring Service
A proctoring service is available for Arlington Heights residents, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday. Due to the nature of this service, it is available by appointment only. To schedule an appointment for proctoring, call 847-506-2649.
Voter Registration You may register to vote at the Reception Desk on the second level any time the library is open. Two forms of identification are needed with at least one showing your current residence address. And you must be:
A U.S. citizen
At least 18 years of age
A resident of the precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day
