We're about books...

Reading them

subscribe to booklistsEvery month, we post new lists of books in many different genres. Click on an image to the right to see this month's list or sign up to have lists delivered to your email. Don't see anything you like? Find more lists here!

Reviewing them

Our staff share their thoughts about the books they've read on the AHML Staff Choices blog. Read all the reviews, or follow the comments of your favorite reviewer.

Discussing them

Most of the library's book discussion groups meet from September through May. Registration for all groups begins August 1.

We have series and monthly book groups. Learn more about the groups and how to join.

Book discussions at the Senior Center are also lively and interesting.

Starting or hosting a book group couldn't be easier. AHML has what it takes to get started!

  1. Step-by-Step instructions
  2. Sets of Books to check out for your book group
  3. Tips for Leaders and Participants

Writing them

We have two Writing Groups - the Writing Place and the Poetry Place - for writers 18 years of age and up. Both groups meet monthly and are designed to provide a supportive environment for writers of all genres, from the novice to the experienced. Come to collaborate, critique and network with other writers in the community. The groups are moderated by published author Susan B. Auld.
